I talk to a lot of coaches who tell me: “Prathamesh, I don’t care about the money. I just want to help people.”
Every time I hear this, I know it’s not the full story.
It’s not that they don’t want to help. They do. But the real reason they say “I don’t care about money” is because they are scared to ask for it.
They are afraid someone will say “you are too expensive.” So, they hide behind the word “impact.” They keep their prices super low, work day and night for almost nothing, and hope someone will magically pay them more.
Look at it this way: if your business has no money, you cannot help anyone. A broke coach cannot change lives. You are just keeping yourself stuck.
The Trap of Trying to Help Everyone
Look at your calendar. Who are you trying to help? If you say “anyone who wants to change their life,” you have already lost.
In ancient India, teachers had a concept called Adhikari. It means “the right student.” Not everyone is ready to learn from you. Not everyone will do the work or respect your time.
When you try to help everyone, you help no one. You end up looking like a regular school teacher who gets paid very little, instead of a brain surgeon who gets paid a lot to solve one big, specific problem.
To build a real business, find your Adhikari. Find the exact person who is stuck in a nightmare right now, and who is ready to do whatever it takes to reach their dream goal.
Sell the Result, Not the Work
Most coaches spend all their sales talks showing how they coach. “We will have weekly Zoom calls. I will give you PDFs. We will chat on WhatsApp.”
This is a trap. People do not want Zoom calls or more PDFs. They do not want more work on their calendar. They do not want the Kriya (the homework or process).
They want the Prayojana—the final goal or result.
People don’t buy coaching calls. They buy the bridge that takes them from their nightmare to their dream.
If you are struggling to charge high prices, it is because you are selling the homework. If you sell homework, you are just a tutor. If you sell the result, you are the only obvious solution.
How to Fix This
If you want to stop struggling and start winning, do these three things:
First, find your Adhikari (the right student). Stop trying to convince people who complain about your price. If they say you are too expensive, they are not your student. Let them go.
Second, define your **connection**. How does your knowledge solve their specific nightmare? If you cannot explain this in one simple sentence, you are still confused.
Third, build a place where they can trust you. Don’t try to sell a big coaching program in a cold Instagram message. Run a class or a group where they can see how clear your thinking is first.
