Question: How can I create valuable content by sharing my experience, especially when I feel like I’m saying the same things others have already said?

So I end up writing privately and never publish.

What makes me original?

Answer: First, originality is a scam. There is nothing original in this world. Including us. We are a remix of our mom & dad. And a few thousand ancestors.

Truth never changes. What changes is how to speak the same truth in a 1000 different ways.

The only thing that is original is how you say the same thing in your own unique way, in today’s context.

It’s probably been more than 5000 years, and we are still creating new commentaries on Bhagvat Gita. And it is useful.

People need to be reminded of the same truth more often than teaching something new.

Your goal must not be “originality”, it must be “usefulness”.

Second, don’t write things in a word document and keep it private. Treat social media as a note taking app.

Just publish whatever you write. You are playing too safe by keeping your thoughts private.

How will you attract your tribe by documenting privately?

Third, you can judge your content if you are already an expert in content creation. But you’re learning. How can you judge if you’re not an expert?

So then, how do you judge if your content is good?

By publishing it. And letting the world decide.

There are only 2 possibilities,

  1. It bombs, and nobody will ever know you published something.
  2. It hits the nerve, and now you know what works.

Either way, it is feedback for you. Accept it and move on to your next content.
