Ogilvy’s favorite technique to visualize a sales letter
If you look at Ogilvy’s ads, one of the greats in advertising. You will see he repeatedly used a common technique in his ads.
He called it the Cover-Headline-Body Format.
I love this format of visualizing the sales letter because it is simple, anyone can use it & it works.
The Cover-Headline-Body Design Pattern has,
- A Compelling Cover Image (to grab attention)
- A hook-worthy headline (gives the audience a reason to stop and read further)
- Body Copy (delivers on the promise of the headline)
